Thursday Pickorama

Statistically speaking, we shouldn’t complain about going 8-2 on the week.

Still, we would love to come out one week and boast about going a perfect 10-0.

That dream went by the board Friday when we hitched our wagons on a Masconomet team having a good season. Unfortunately they went up against Marblehead team that is playing pretty good football right now and they were too much for the Chieftains.

The other loss was a stunner. Not in the fact that Catholic Memorial beat St. John’s Prep (yes we picked the Prep), but the final 34-0 score was something very few would have imagined.

Well, let’s get to the picks for the final week of the MIAA regular season.

Belmont Hill over MILTON ACADEMY: Belmont Hill solidifies its NEPSAC Bowl resume.

Weymouth over WELLESLEY: Yet another good Bay State Conference matchup.

Tabor over BB&N: I think the Seawolves haven’t forgotten Bo MacCormack’s record-setting performance at their expense last year.

NATICK over Milton: Lost in the shuffle of Needham’s performance in the Bay State Conference is the fact that Natick has been pretty darned good itself.

BC High over ST. JOHN’S PREP: I think we’re buying the Kool-Aid being served over at Morrissey Boulevard.

BISHOP FEEHAN over St. Mary’s: Shamrocks continue their rampage over the rest of the Catholic Central League.

AMESBURY over Manchester-Essex: Amesbury showing some championship pedigree of late.

North Reading over NEWBURYPORT: Hornets go on the road to sting the Clippers.

North Attleboro over FOXBORO: Two teams capable of going a long way in the postseason.

Norwood over HOLLISTON: Like the way the Mustangs are playing down the stretch.
