What would your top priorities be if elected? – Preserving Otto Berg Park for township residents with thoughtful implementation of the Norrell/Stonebridge Trail/Highway 96 corridor future plans. – Encourage and review township ordinances to make the township a welcoming place for residents to age in place. – Increase Township and neighborhood communication to promote township engagement with residents.
What qualifies you to hold this position? – Stillwater Township has been my home since 1986. After college at Hamline University I spent a few years out East, but returned back to the Township knowing that it was an amazing place to live and raise kids. I am committed to raising my children in a place that fosters the community and safety that I grew up with. My connections to the community are valuable in understanding the needs and challenges of our township.
What do you think is the primary role of government? On a township level – Assist residents in resolving community conflicts, ask questions to gain understanding, and find new solutions to current and future problems. I am invested in making sure our community continues to provide amazing parks and recreational opportunities, excels in an increasingly interconnected digital world, and plan for the future of our township.
How do you work to understand, and then learn from, opinions that differ from your own and people who disagree with you? I have patience and seek to understand all POV’s when a problem arises. I ask lots of questions to gain understanding of the issue and find new solutions to problems.
