NYC Housing Calendar, Oct. 21-28

City Limits rounds up the latest housing and land use-related events, public hearings and affordable housing lotteries that are ending soon.

The City Council will hold two days of hearing this week to examine the mayor’s City of Yes for Housing Opportunity plan. Their vote on the proposal is the final step in the public review process.

Monday, Oct. 21 at 10:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will receive a presentation from the Department of City Planning regarding the City of Yes for Housing Opportunity Proposal. More here.

Monday, Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m.: The City Club of New York will host an online webinar with Councilmember Chris Marte to discuss the City of Yes for Housing Opportunity plan. More here.

Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 9:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will hold a public hearing on the mayor’s City of Yes for Housing Opportunity Proposal. More here.

Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 9:30 a.m.: The Landmarks Preservation Commission will meet. More here.

Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 12 p.m.: The city’s Department of Housing, Preservation and Development and NYC Commission on Human Rights will hold an online Zoom workshop about rental housing discrimination and harassment. More here.

Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 10:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Consumer and Worker Protection will vote on a bill that would require hotels to obtain a license in order to operate. More here.

Saturday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.:  The city’s Department of Housing, Preservation and Development and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will hold an online Zoom workshop for homeowners about addressing lead paint violations. More here.

Monday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Environmental Protection, Resiliency and Waterfronts will meet about several bills, including one that would establish a program to help homeowners in southeast Queens with groundwater flooding. More here.

Monday, Oct. 28 at 1 p.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Civil Service and Labor will meet regarding a bill to establish community hiring and wage standards for city assisted housing development projects. More here.

NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries Ending Soon: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
