Battenfeld: Democrats selling access to ordinary guy Tim Walz for $100,000 a ticket

Democrats are selling access to alleged ordinary guy Tim Walz for a mere $100,000 at a secretive Boston fundraiser this weekend where the VP flop will try to rev up the faltering ticket.

Walz, who bills himself as a man of the people Midwestern football coach, will cozy up to donors willing to shell out big bucks for the party’s get out the vote effort.

Plenty of seats are still available.

Organizers are refusing to give out even a time or place for the fundraiser on Sunday to avoid protesters flocking to the event. Walz is not scheduled to hold a public event before he beats it out of the Bay State.

The fundraiser exposes Walz as just another Democratic elitist. Tickets are being sold on a tiered system where the more money you give, the closer you can get to touching Walz’s flannel shirt or maybe hear him talk about his pheasant hunting exploits.

Tickets start at the bargain price of $500 where you get nosebleed seats but larger donations buy better seats. A donation of $25,000 at the “sponsor” level gives you a photo line with the dynamic Walz, according to the organizers. A $100,000 contribution will give you access to a host reception.

The only tickets currently sold out are at the $500 level, so there’s plenty of time to shell out big bucks to get a meet and greet with Walz.

The disappointing debate performance against JD Vance has led some Democrats to question the VP pick of Kamala Harris.

Democrats were hoping Walz’s selection would help shore up Harris’s biggest weakness, which is male voters, but there’s no evidence that he has helped in that area. He has tried to woo moderate males by going hunting with the media in tow, attending high school football games and drinking diet Mountain Dew.

Harris continues to trail Trump by a wide margin among male voters.

The party’s hopes that a big debate triumph by Walz against Vance would also give the ticket a big boost never materialized. Polls show more voters gave Vance the nod in the debate showdown earlier this month, where Walz called himself a “knucklehead” and appeared flustered at times.

How much difference is there really between Dan Quayle and Tim Walz?

The Massachusetts event comes as polls continue to show a tightening race, with Harris’s lead over Donald Trump in battleground states vanishing over the last few weeks.

It’s the second fundraising appearance for the Minnesota governor in Massachusetts, which Democrats have dubbed their personal ATM machine.

Massachusetts is already in the bag for the Democrats but the state is a must-visit for candidates looking to raise money.

Massachusetts Democratic Chairman Steve Kerrigan says the Boston fundraiser will be “an incredible opportunity to support the campaign as we get into the home stretch and to hear directly from Governor Walz about the Harris/Walz plan for a new way forward for our country.”
