In the Hockomock League, Breanna Aveiro registered a hat trick and an assist as Attleboro defeated Milford 6-0. … Raena Crandall and Ella Marzullo each scored three times as Franklin (14-1) blanked Taunton 10-0. … Ella Morgan tallied two goals for King Philip in a 5-1 win over Sharon.

In a South Coast Conference matchup, Addie Finlaw racked up four goals and two assists while Ryan Crook finished with five assists to lift Somerset Berkley past Apponequet, 9-0.

In a South Shore League contest, Quinn Jordan recorded four goals and an assist as Sandwich (15-0) defeated Norwell, 7-0.

Mackenzie Clarke surpassed a career-high 30 goals on the year with another hat trick, pacing Belmont in a 6-2 nonleague win over Dover-Sherborn. … Jocelyn Mariani scored and dished an assist in a fast start for Nashoba (11-2-3), leading a 4-1 charge past Chelmsford. … Genna McDonald scored and assisted another goal for Medfield in a well-rounded, 4-0 shutout win over Braintree.

Olivia Scally’s hat trick paced Stoneham toward a 7-2 Middlesex League win against Wakefield.

Lexi Carroll registered a hat trick with an assist for Hopedale in a 6-4 win over Northbridge.

In Patriot League action, Adam Healey scored twice and added an assist to lead Hingham to a 3-0 victory over Plymouth North. … Colin Blake and Shane Crowley each netted a goal as Pembroke defeated Hanover, 2-1

In a Merrimack Valley Conference contest, Andy Rodriguez scored a pair and Dylan Gavin recorded ten saves for his seventh shutout of the season to lead Methuen to a 3-0 victory over Lawrence.

In the Cape Ann League, Ryan Gasbarro scored twice as Newburyport (6-5-3) shutout Essex Tech 2-0.  … Sammy Bothwell notched the lone goal for Manchester-Essex (10-3-1) in a 1-0 win over Rockport.

In Commonwealth Athletic Conference action, Kwasi Boateng II scored a hat trick to lift Greater Lowell to a 4-0 victory over Mystic Valley.

Calum McClorey scored his 17th and 18th goals of the season as Braintree upended Walpole 4-0 in Bay State Conference play.

GIRLS SOCCER

Raegan Dillon netted two goals as St. John Paul II blanked Cape and Islands opponent Monomoy 4-0.

In the Bay State Conference, Caitlin Nugent had two tallies as Braintree defeated Walpole 4-1.

In a Patriot League game, Taylor Bello scored the lone goal off an assist from Grace Maroney as Hingham blanked Plymouth North, 1-0. … Rowan Malvey scored twice in the second half to lift Marshfield over Whitman-Hanson 2-1. … Ella McClory scored twice as Hanover edged Pembroke, 3-2. … Meg Carney’s goal and assist anchored the Duxbury offense as part of a 2-0 win over Silver Lake.

Alyson Green’s hat trick paired with two goals from Maddie Recupero and Sophia Tz to lead Hopkinton over Norwood, 7-0, in Tri-Valley League action.

In a Cape Ann contest, Georgia Wilson finished with three points (two goals, one assist) and Tessa Hunt added a pair of assists as Hamilton-Wenham (11-0-3) blanked Amesbury, 6-0.

Lucy Irwin finished with a hat trick as Central Catholic (9-4-1) edged Methuen 4-3 in Merrimack Valley Conference action.

VOLLEYBALL

In the Cape and Islands League, Zlata Alioshka collected 11 aces, six kills and 12 assists as St. John Paul II edged Sturgis West 3-2.

In nonleague play, Chloe McKinnon compiled 22 kills and 16 digs while Kyla Martin added five aces, 24 digs and nine kills as Dartmouth defeated Case 3-2.

Sally Hoban notched 17 kills for Canton as it beat Hockomock League foe North Attleboro, 3-0.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Saint John’s High School announced that John Ginnity has been named the new boys basketball coach. He takes over for Bob Foley, who retired after a Hall of Fame career in which he won 980 games.

Ginnity attended St. Bernard’s High School (Fitchburg) where he was inducted into their Athletics Hall of Fame. After graduating from there, he played his college basketball at Clark University. Over the past two decades, he has coached at Assumption University, Clark University, Framingham State University, Worcester Academy and Burncoat High School.

“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the Saint John’s community, leading the next chapter of the school’s basketball program,” Ginnity said. “Saint John’s has such a rich and storied history and it is truly an honor and privilege to now be a part of it.”
