Drake Maye appears on Patriots’ injury report as full participant

FOXBORO — Drake Maye was listed on the Patriots’ first injury report of the week with a knee ailment, but the rookie quarterback was a full participant in practice.

Maye was one of 16 players listed on Wednesday’s injury report. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson (foot), left tackle Vederian Lowe (ankle) and cornerback Marcus Jones (illness/groin) were the only three players listed as non-participants.

Stevenson missed the Patriots’ Week 6 loss to the Texans. The Patriots will need to decide by Thursday afternoon whether Stevenson is going to travel to London for their game against the Jaguars. His early-week absence puts his status in question.

If Stevenson can’t play, then Antonio Gibson, who struggled Week 6, would be in line for another start. JaMycal Hasty served as a backup while the Patriots elevated Terrell Jennings from the practice squad. The Patriots also have Kevin Harris on their practice squad.

Lowe has been the Patriots’ starting left tackle when healthy. If he’s not ready for Sunday’s game, it could push top offensive lineman Mike Onwenu from right guard to right tackle.

“That’s in consideration,” head coach Jerod Mayo said Wednesday.

If Onwenu goes to right tackle, Demontrey Jacobs could flip back over to left tackle, where he started in Week 4. Michael Jordan and Ben Brown could remain at left guard and center, respectively, while the right guard role would come down to rookie Layden Robinson or 2023 fourth-round pick Sidy Sow.

The Patriots’ other options at tackle are guard Zachary Thomas and two players on the practice squad, Caleb Jones and Jalen McKenzie.

Since Jones played through a groin injury last week, it seems likely it’s the illness that kept him out of practice Wednesday.

The following players were limited Wednesday: CB Isaiah Bolden (hamstring), S Kyle Dugger (ankle), DT Davon Godchaux (elbow), CB Jonathan Jones (shoulder), G Michael Jordan (ankle), S Marte Mapu (neck), LB Sione Takitaki (knee), CB Marco Wilson (groin).

WR Kendrick Bourne (knee), LS Joe Cardona (calf), LB Anfernee Jennings (shoulder), QB Drake Maye (knee) and WR K.J. Osborn (shoulder) were full participants despite minor ailments.
