FOXBORO — The Patriots have formally benched wide receiver Tyquan Thornton.

Thornton, a Week 1 starter, will be a healthy scratch Week 6 against the Texans. Thornton has caught just two passes for 27 yards in five games this season.

Stevenson was ruled out Friday. Antonio Gibson will start in his place with JaMycal Hasty and Terrell Jennings (a practice squad elevation) as backups.

Cardona was listed with a calf injury on Friday, when the Patriots signed long snapper Tucker Addington to the practice squad. Addington was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday afternoon, and Cardona was ruled out Saturday night with a personal matter.

Robinson is dealing with ankle and wrist injuries but had already been benched from his starting role last week. The Patriots will roll with LT Vederian Lowe, LG Michael Jordan, C Nick Leverett, RG Mike Onwenu, RT Demontrey Jacobs, Ben Brown, Zach Thomas and Sidy Sow on their offensive line.

Thornton, Baker and Johnson will be healthy scratches. The Patriots have Kendrick Bourne, Kayshon Boutte, DeMario Douglas, K.J. Osborn and Ja’Lynn Polk available at wide receiver for rookie quarterback Drake Maye’s first start.

Daniel Ekuale, Davon Godchaux, Jeremiah Pharms Jr. and Jaquelin Roy will rotate at defensive tackle with Johnson inactive.

Joe Milton is inactive as the Patriots’ emergency third quarterback. He can only enter the game if Maye and backup Jacoby Brissett suffer injuries.

Osborn and safety Kyle Dugger will return to the lineup after missing Week 5 with injuries.
