Stevenson was listed with a foot injury on the Patriots’ last two practice reports. He told reporters after last Sunday’s loss Miami that he took a helmet to his calf, which caused him to receive on-field medical attention and miss most of the rest of the game. Stevenson has not been since on the practice field or in the locker room during media access since.

The Patriots are likely to turn to veteran backups Antonio Gibson and JaMycal Hasty against the Texans on Sunday, when they could call up Kevin Harris and/or Terrell Jennings from the practice squad. Practice-squad defensive back D.J. James was missing at Friday’s practice, when the team fielded a new long snapper and defensive lineman.

The Pats will release their final injury report Friday evening.
