An American reality television series, Selling Sunset, featured on Netflix, revolves around Oppenheim Group, a high-profile real estate firm. After debuting on March 21, 2019, the reality series garnered huge popularity, with a second season premiered in May 2020. Renewal Updates of Selling Sunset Season 9

As of October 2024, Netflix has not released any statement regarding Selling Sunset Season 9. While the web series Selling Sunset announces two renewals at a time and is filmed back-to-back, season 8 did not release a teaser reel to hint at anything about its 9th season.

On the contrary, Selling Sunset is one of the streaming giant’s largest reality shows and is expected to return soon.

Is Selling Sunset Season 9 canceled?

According to recent updates, the ninth season of the series has neither been renewed nor canceled.

While the reason behind the delay is unknown, the cast feud has been swirling around the internet, eventually raising several controversies. Chrishell Stause, an agent at Oppenheim Group Sunset Blvd Office, and one of the primary cast of the Selling Sunset, announced her decision to leave the show amid rising fights in the show. 

Her statement read, “I will never work on a show with her again. After eight seasons and seeing someone systematically try to plot against several people … Why are we giving her more airtime? The audience doesn’t want to see this or hear this. When somebody’s just hungry for camera time and lies, the audience is over it.”

Release Dates

If a renewal for the 9th season is announced, filming for the series will not happen anytime soon. Social media fans went crazy searching for the reunion, several media houses suggested that Cast United would not feature anymore.

Netflix has not announced an official decision yet; however, if two or three are cast back out, the series is likely to face further delays.

What Would Selling Sunset Season 9 Be About?

In the 8th season of the American series, Lazkani’s separation from her husband was featured primarily. The Selling Sunset Season 8 concluded with Lazkani finding an appropriate home where she can stay with her children. In the upcoming season, the divorce of Lazkani is expected to be highlighted more.

It is also expected that the season will emphasize Bre Tiesi’s statements about Lazkani’s husband’s infidelity. In the eighth season, this statement led to chaos, eventually, Bre Tiesi being called an attention seeker. 

Additionally, according to Elle’s magazine, season 9 of Selling Sunset’s plot feature, “The season also ended with Tiesi’s friend Amanda Lynn visiting The O Group offices and hinting that she’d like to join the company. As Lynn was responsible for telling Tiesi about the cheating allegations involving Lazkani’s husband, she’s unlikely to be welcomed by the show’s other agents. Plus, Lynn has faced allegations of racism after some of her old X posts resurfaced, Bustle reported, which would make her unpopular with cast members and viewers alike.”
