2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV Offers Up To 492 Miles of Range and More Affordable Options

The electric truck market is heating up, and Chevrolet is making bold moves to stay at the front of the pack. With the unveiling of the 2025 Silverado EV, Chevy isn’t just tweaking the formula — it’s expanding it. New trim levels, improved range, and more affordable pricing are set to make this electric truck a serious contender for anyone looking to go green without sacrificing power and capability.

Expanded Lineup

In 2024, Chevy offered two basic choices for the Silverado EV: the workhorse Work Truck (WT) and the fully-loaded RST First Edition. For 2025, the lineup gets a lot more interesting with the addition of a new LT trim, providing more flexibility and price points for customers. Alongside these trims, Chevy is rolling out three different battery sizes depending on the model: Standard Range, Extended Range, and the all-new Max Range battery option.

The Work Truck (WT) trim, still catering primarily to fleet customers, now offers a jaw-dropping 492-mile range with the Max Range battery, up from 440 miles last year. Even the Extended Range model offers an impressive 422 miles, solidifying its place as the range leader among electric trucks.

The new LT trim, designed for everyday drivers, features a range of 408 miles with the Extended Range battery. Opt for the LT Premium Package, and you’ll get a still-impressive 390 miles, plus some exciting upgrades like Super Cruise hands-free driving and 22-inch wheels. For those wanting a truck that can tow, the LT with Wide Open Watts mode delivers 645 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque, making it capable of pulling a hefty 12,500 pounds. That’s more torque than the RST and a higher tow rating, making the LT a workhorse in its own right.

The RST trim, returning for 2025, continues to pack a punch, offering up to 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque. This electric truck can tow 10,000 pounds, but Chevy has also managed to squeeze an extra 20 miles of range out of it. With the Max Range battery, the RST can now deliver up to 460 miles on a single charge, up from 440 miles last year.

The RST also gets an Extended Range battery option for the first time, offering 390 miles of range. Although slightly less powerful than the Max Range, this option makes the RST more accessible in terms of price, starting at $89,395, compared to $97,895 for the Max Range variant.

Addressing the Price Barrier

Chevrolet has made it clear that one of the biggest hurdles for potential electric truck buyers is pricing. The original promise of a $40,000 Silverado EV may not have materialized, but Chevy has worked to make the lineup more affordable. The base WT model starts at $57,095, while the Extended Range and Max Range versions are priced at $69,495 and $77,795, respectively.

The LT trim provides a middle-ground option for everyday drivers, starting at $75,195 with the Extended Range battery. If you’re looking for all the bells and whistles, the LT Premium Package bumps the price up to $81,995. For those craving a bit more power and luxury, the RST starts at $89,395 with the Extended Range and tops out at $97,895 for the Max Range version.

Chevy has also expanded its color palette, offering a range of six shades, including Blue Smoke Metallic for the LT and Zephyr Blue Matte Metallic for the RST.

Is the Silverado EV the New Benchmark?

Chevy’s approach for the 2025 Silverado EV appears to be all about giving customers more choices — in range, trim levels, and pricing. The addition of the LT trim broadens the Silverado EV’s appeal, while the expanded battery options make it more competitive in terms of range and capability. With the highest range of any electric truck on the market and a more accessible price point, the Silverado EV sets a high bar for its rivals.

Truck buyers now have an option that doesn’t just meet their towing and hauling needs but does so with impressive electric range. Whether you’re a fleet manager eyeing the WT for its practicality or a consumer looking at the RST for its blend of power and luxury, the 2025 Silverado EV promises to deliver on multiple fronts.
