Patriots Kendrick Bourne, Marte Mapu, rule out Jabrill Peppers in series of roster moves

The Patriots’ offense and defense are getting a needed boost this week against the Dolphins.

Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne was activated off of the PUP list and safety Marte Mapu was activated off of injured reserve Saturday. Both Bourne and Mapu returned to practice this week and were activated as soon as they could come off of the PUP and IR lists.

The Patriots also signed defensive tackle Jaquelin Roy to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and elevated center Bryan Hudson and outside linebacker Ochaun Mathis from the practice squad.

The Patriots’ roster is now full at 53 players.

The Patriots also ruled out safety Jabrill Peppers with a shoulder injury. Safety Kyle Dugger (ankle) remains questionable despite not practicing this week.

Linebacker Sione Takitaki remains on the PUP list. He also returned to practice Wednesday, beginning his 21-day window for activation.

Bourne will likely take over wide receiver K.J. Osborn’s snaps. Osborn is questionable but didn’t practice this week with a shoulder injury.

Besides Mapu, the Patriots also have safeties Jaylinn Hawkins, Dell Pettus and Brenden Schooler available to play Sunday.

Roy joins defensive tackles Davon Godchaux, Daniel Ekuale, Jeremiah Pharms and Eric Johnson on the 53-man roster.

Hudson is expected to back up Nick Leverett at center with David Andrews on injured reserve. Mathis provides another edge defender along with Keion White, Anfernee Jennings, Josh Uche and Deatrich Wise. Jennings (shoulder) is questionable after missing last week.
