Singer Kehlani’s ex files for custody of their daughter, alleging mom is in a cult
R&B singer Kehlani’s ex, Javaughn Young-White, has filed for full custody of the 5-year-old daughter he shares with the singer, claiming his baby mama is in a cult.
Alleging he’s not even mentioned on the tot’s birth certificate, Young-White filed court documents claiming Kehlani, whose full name is Kehlani Parrish, is controlled by a group whose leaders have questionable practices and whose main honcho has faced “numerous accusations of committing sexual assault against women and young girls,” Vibe reported.
Young-White also said daughter Adeya Nomi sleeps in a bed with other cult members and is given baths by random strangers when Kehlani is away, according to the court filings obtained by People.
The dad said he’s being prevented from seeing his daughter because the cult leader convinced Kehlani he’s a danger to the child. He’s asking for for spousal support in the filing as well.
The two were a couple from 2018 to 2019, the year Adeya was born. Kehlani came out as gay in 2021.
Since the filing, the former couple have been ordered to attend mediation sessions to work out custody, visitation and other co-parenting issues, TMZ reported.
