TM Committee

The MIAA Tournament Management Committee agreed unanimously Thursday morning on accepting the girls volleyball format for the fall. There was a little more acrimony when it came time for the swimming format to be approved.

There was a mild push to add a buffer to the deadline for swimming sectional and state meets in order to give schools more time to provide accurate information. MIAA tournament chair Shaun Hart pushed back against the buffer, saying it was not necessary at this time. In the end, the swimming format without the buffer was approved by a 10-4 vote.

Schools

The St. Columbkille Alumni Association announced the first five members to be inducted into the school’s Hall of Honor. The inductees are Leo Buckley (athletic director, coach), Michael Buckley (two-sport athlete, assistant athletic director, coach), Sister Mary Black (principal, leader), John Hoffman (two-sport athlete, coach) and Mary Donahue (athlete, scholar, fighter pilot). They will be honored in a ceremony at the school on Saturday, June 8.
