Campus chaos

For its accuracy and timeliness, Kristin Tate’s excellent column on the current mindless college campus chaos should be required reading for every parent considering their children’s future educational pursuits.  It should also be made available in every college faculty lounge in the fading hope that our elitist “educators” will recognize the damage they have inflicted on our nation.  Since the 1960’s, with financial and propaganda support from domestic and foreign sources, our educational system has inculcated our children with anti-American, anti-capitalist Marxist theory.  We are subjected to divisive CRT and DEI programming in educational and business settings and asked to accept the sexualization of our grade school children, and the “right” of minors on their own to alter their biological selves, in service to the poisonous Progressive notion of fundamentally changing America.  As Ms. Tate points out, our education system is at a crossroads but so is our Western culture and value system.

Rideshare audit

State Auditor Diana DiZoglio’s rideshare audit isn’t worth the paper it’s written on.  She obviously has a bias in favor of her benefactor.

Government and labor leaders have no right to tell these workers how they should be compensated.  Many, if not most, of these contractors are attracted to this specific type of work because of its inherent flexibility. They literally make their own hours. They lose that flexibility if they are forced to become W-2 wage employees of these companies.

The gig economy is growing rapidly because it serves a particular need.  Forcing these workers to become direct employees will end it.

Hamas surrender

On Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas invaded Israel with a barrage of rockets fired from Gaza, 21 locations in Israel were invaded with 1,200 Israelis killed, hundreds wounded and about 240 hostages taken. Hamas needs to surrender, hand over the remaining hostages held and a new government set up in Gaza going forward.

Open AI suit

Media News Group, the owner of the Boston Herald, has good reason to sue Microsoft and Open AI.  Putting the hard work of journalism down in print is not something that AI should take for free and use at will.  There should be a price to pay for the information. If someone writes a term paper and copies information taken from a book, magazine or newspaper a footnote is required to give credit to the author of the information.  If a footnote is not given it’s called plagiarism.  AI should not be immune to plagiarism so it should give credit when credit is due.  Of course, once credit is given and documented then a cost is rightfully due from Microsoft or Open AI.
