Taylor Swift Breaks Record With ‘The Tortured Poets Department’

Taylor Swift is one of the most famous singers worldwide. Her album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ has broken several records since it debuted on April 19. It has also gained the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Taylor Swift expressed her happiness through social media.

American singer and songwriter Taylor Swift is not unknown to success. The United States media outlet Billboard called her new album “a gigantic debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.”

Notably, this is Taylor’s 14th chart-topping album and the highest by a solo star other than Jay-Z. Therefore, in the many years since the chart debuted, Swift and Jay-Z have tied for the most number-one albums. Apart from them, only The Beatles, with 19 No. 1s, are at the top.

Taylor wrote on her official social media account regarding this achievement.

Nevertheless, her new album has also faced backlash from some outlets. They have cited that the album title is not good enough, and the lyrics just do not make any sense. While they remain stuck to the fact that TTPD is Taylor’s worst lyrics game till now, Swifties did not bother.

Spotify, a few days ago, said that TTPD is its most streamed album in a single week, with more than a billion streams.

As of now, the album has 891.34 million on-demand official streams. Billboard also declared the week

the third-largest sales week (by traditional album sales) in the modern era (since Luminate began electronically tracking sales in 1991) and the largest sales week for an album on vinyl in the modern era.

Nonetheless, Taylor Swift remains one of the most influential and celebrated artists in today’s era.
