Mercedes Unleashes Their Quickest AMG Yet, The 805-HP AMG GT63 S E Performance

Mercedes has introduced the latest addition to its lineup of high-performance vehicles: the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance. This sleek two-door coupe boasts impressive power figures, making it the quickest AMG model yet. Under the hood lies a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine producing 603 horsepower, complemented by an electric motor at the rear, resulting in a combined output of 805 horsepower and a staggering 1,047 pound-feet of torque. With this formidable powertrain, the GT63 S E Performance can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, outpacing many supercars on the market.

Despite being a plug-in hybrid, efficiency takes a back seat to performance in this model. The 6.1 kWh battery prioritizes power delivery over electric-only range, ensuring optimal performance at all times. Charging options include both plug-in and recuperation settings, with a one-pedal mode for added convenience reminiscent of electric vehicles.

Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission and Mercedes-AMG’s 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system. The electric motor primarily drives the rear axle, but can send power to the front when needed for enhanced traction. Standard features include rear-axle steering, AMG Active Ride Control suspension with roll stabilization, and carbon ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers at the front and single-piston calipers at the rear. Optional larger wheels up to 21 inches are available for those seeking a more customized driving experience.

Visually, the E Performance variant of the GT63 is subtly distinguished by special badging and a discreet charging port concealed within the rear fascia. Changes to the active aero system optimize performance specifically for the hybrid powertrain, ensuring maximum efficiency without sacrificing style. Inside the 2+2 cockpit, drivers will find the luxurious yet sporty ambiance typical of Mercedes-AMG vehicles.

While pricing details for the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance have yet to be announced, it is expected to go on sale later in 2024, offering enthusiasts the ultimate combination of power, performance, and luxury in a sleek two-door package.
