NESN faces heat for continued ‘technical issues,’ Mike Felger slams ‘atrocious gouge of a NESN product’
If you’ve come close to chucking your clicker at the TV because your NESN feed is all messed up, you’re not alone.
Local sports fans who spend more than $300 a year for NESN have been struggling to watch recent games, as the network deals with continued “technical issues.”
Bruins fans during Wednesday night’s game in particular were flooding NESN’s social media accounts with complaints.
“We are aware of the technical issues with our app, NESN 360, and are working to resolve it as soon as possible,” NESN posted. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”
The issues with NESN 360 come ahead of Opening Day for the Red Sox on the network.
During 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Felger and Mazz” on Thursday, host Mike Felger again slammed NESN for its app, calling it “this atrocious gouge of a NESN product.”
“I can’t fathom that it’s doing well at 30 dollars a month,” Felger said. “Thirty dollars a month for that baseball team is just, what a gouge. And the app as I’ve told you, it’s improving, but it’s still I think a bad product.”
“Half the time, let’s face it, the 360 thing doesn’t work, so it’s like, what a gouge,” he later added. “How do they get away with that?”
Felger said he can’t even figure out how to get the NESN games on his TV.
“So I gotta watch it on my effin phone, and it’s like, that’s gotta be a problem for them,” Felger said, adding, “It’s not a good product, and it’s so overpriced.”

98.5 host Joe Murray said he had a “terrible experience” trying to watch the recent Bruins game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
“I couldn’t watch the actual game because the feed was screwed up all night long, and it was like this the other night, too,” Murray said.
Host Tony Massarotti added, “You know what, I had trouble with the feed last night, too.”
Felger said he couldn’t log in to the app two nights ago.
“There’s always something wrong with the effing product,” Felger said. “The nuts and bolts of getting the effin thing on my screen, there’s usually a problem. It’s not a clean process, never mind the cost of it, and so yeah, I’ve been saying this, it’s a horrible product, and it’s a gouge.”
Some fans pay $29.99 a month for NESN 360, or annually for $329.99. Others who have NESN as part of their TV package already have access to NESN 360 at no additional cost.
