Lucas: Biden rebrands as energetic candidate

I’ll have what he’s having.

Whatever it is.

“He” is Joe Biden, who has suddenly turned himself into an over-invigorated Tom Brady of American politics.

With renewed stamina, Biden is liable to be throwing a football around  the beach at his summer home in Rehoboth, Del. the way the Kennedys used to do at the compound in Hyannis.

A noted California forensic psychiatrist who works with elderly dementia patients told The Washington Times that Biden’s shouting, rapid speech and arm waving during his State of the Union address could suggest drug use.

Dr. Carole Lieberman said, “If you look at how Joe Biden usually is —slow and stumbling — compared to how he was during the State of the Union — fiery and angry — these are signs that are typical for someone taking Adderall or any amphetamine.”

Gone, at least temporarily, are the days of Biden stumbling up or down the children’s stairs of Air Force One as he hit the campaign trail in New Hampshire following his speech before Congress.

Biden, 81, has so much energy these days that he practically floats up the stairs of Air Force One like a rock star hounded by screaming fans.

Democrats in Congress huddled around Biden following his high voltage speech last week as though he had won an Oscar. It was a speech in which he attacked his “predecessor,” also known as Donald Trump, 13 times.

Ordinarily Biden might have been accused of forgetting Trump’s name, like he forgets the names of others.

As it was, he bungled the name of Laken Riley, the 22-year old nursing student who was allegedly murdered by an “illegal” (Biden’s word) Venezuelan immigrant in Georgia last month while out jogging. He called her “Lincoln,” as in Abraham. Biden later apologized for calling the alleged killer an “illegal.”

The problem was that her name was not in Biden’s speech or on the teleprompter, nor had he even previously mentioned her name.

He only did so after he was goaded by Rep.  Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia who interrupted Biden by shouting, “Say her name.”

So, he did, even though he got it wrong.

“Biden does not even know my child’s name, it’s pathetic. If you are going to say her name even when forced to do so, a least say the right name,” said Allyson Philips, Laken Riley’s mother.

It was too bad that Steve Nikoui could not get Biden’s attention the way Greene did. Nikoui is the father of a U.S. Marine who, along with 13 other U.S. military personnel, was killed at the Kabul Airport during Biden’s 2021 reckless and botched pullout from Afghanistan.

Nikoui, 51, a gallery guest of Florida Republican Rep. Brian Mast, was arrested by the Capitol Police after interrupting Biden’s speech by shouting “Abbey Gate, Abbey Gate” from the gallery.

Abbey Gate was the site at the Kabul airport of the horrific terrorist bomb attack that could have been prevented. A Taliban terrorist took the life of Nikoui’s son Kareem 21, along with ten other U.S, Marines, a U.S Army soldier and a Navy seaman. Some 170 Afghans were also killed.

Biden did not acknowledge Nikoui, or the Afghan withdrawal. He probably thought Abbey Gate was a Beatle’s album.

Biden must know that, with America gone, the Taliban have resumed public executions in open air stadiums, undoubtedly including Afghans who had worked for the U.S.

But Biden is not responsible for that, or Abbey Gate or Laken Riley or his open borders, or illegal immigrant crime, or high food and gas prices or the world on fire. He’s not responsible for anything.

He is just walking on air, happy and carefree.

I am going to have what he’s having. Only make it a double.
