2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Priced Starting at $66,100

Last year, Hyundai revealed its performance-oriented EV, the Ioniq 5 N, poised to redefine the realm of electric vehicles with its impressive power and performance. With a starting price of $66,100 (excluding freight charges), this model sets a new standard for Hyundai’s lineup. Boasting a remarkable 641 horsepower generated by its dual electric motors, the Ioniq 5 N propels from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.25 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 162 mph. Notably, it comes in a single trim level that is fully loaded with cutting-edge features and technology.

One of the standout features of the Ioniq 5 N is its innovative N e-Shift, simulating eight gears from a dual-clutch transmission, enhancing the driving experience. While the exact range of the vehicle’s larger 82-kWh battery pack is yet to be disclosed, Hyundai assures rapid charging capabilities, promising an 18-minute charge from 10% to 80% capacity.

Competing in the electric vehicle market, Hyundai faces stiff competition, particularly from its cousin, the Kia EV6 GT, and then you have the Tesla Model Y Performance. The EV6 GT, sharing the same E-GMP architecture as the Ioniq 5, offers comparable benefits in charging speed and time but falls short in range due to its smaller 77.4-kWh battery. Although priced slightly lower at $61,600, the EV6 GT lacks the N e-Shift mode, a feature that adds a unique dimension to the driving experience of the Ioniq 5 N.

On the other hand, the Tesla Model Y Performance presents itself as a formidable rival with a lower starting price of $52,490, coupled with eligibility for a $7,500 tax credit. However, when fully equipped with features such as Enhanced Autopilot and Full Self-Driving Capability, the Model Y’s price converges closely with that of the Ioniq 5 N. Despite its lower horsepower of 455 and marginally slower acceleration, the Model Y offers an impressive range of 279 miles with its 85-kWh battery.

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N stands out as a pinnacle of Hyundai’s engineering prowess, offering unparalleled power and performance in the electric vehicle segment. While facing formidable competitors, its combination of cutting-edge technology, rapid charging capabilities, and exhilarating driving experience makes it a compelling option for enthusiasts seeking the pinnacle of electric vehicle innovation.
