Vikings star tight end T.J. Hockenson has successful surgery on ACL
A little more than a month after suffering a significant knee injury, Vikings star tight end T.J. Hockenson had surgery to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament. Dr. Neal ElAttrache from the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles performed the surgery on Monday afternoon.
The significant knee injury occurred on Dec. 24 when Hockenson absorbed a low hit from safety Kerby Joseph during a game against the Detroit Lions. He tore his torn anterior cruciate ligament and his medial collateral ligament on the play. The latter did not require repair.
There is no timetable on when Hockenson will be able to return to the field. The team will continue to provide updates as he progresses through the recovery process.
The significant knee injury prematurely ended the best season of Hockenson’s career. He finished with 95 receptions for 960 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games.
