The Patriots plan to interview ex-Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, 49ers tight ends coach Brian Fleury and Lions pass game coordinator Tanner Engstrand, per reports. The Pats are also hosting former New England assistant and current Rams tight ends coach Nick Caley for a second interview Sunday, according to the NFL Network. Caley was the first coach to interview Monday, and he is the only candidate with prior experience in New England.

Commonalities among candidates in Mayo’s offensive coordinator search include experience coaching tight ends and running offenses under Rams coach Sean McVay or a McVay disciple.

Here is the complete list of known candidates for the Patriots’ offensive coordinator job:

Rams TEs coach Nick Caley

Caley moved to Los Angeles last year after eight seasons in New England, where he mostly worked with tight ends. He also interviewed for the Patriots’ offensive coordinator job last season.

Rams QBs coach/pass game coordinator Zac Robinson

Robinson was the second known candidate to interview last Tuesday. He is considered a rising star and a top candidate for the Falcons’ offensive coordinator job under new coach Raheem Morris.

Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown

The 37-year-old has spent most of his dozen years in coaching working with running backs, but simultaneously served as the Rams’ assistant head coach (2021-22) and offensive coordinator at the University of Miami (2016-18). In Carolina last year, his first and only season as coordinator, the Panthers averaged 13.1 points per game.

Texans QBs coach Jerrod Johnson

Johnson oversaw C.J. Stroud’s record-setting rookie campaign in Houston this year. He is also taking offensive coordinator interviews elsewhere.

Ex-Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy

The 39-year-old lost his job in Chicago after two underwhelming seasons. Before that, he worked for the Packers as an offensive coach from 2014-17 and 2019-21.

49ers TEs coach Brian Fleury

Fluery spent most of his coaching career on defense before flipping to offense in 2020. He’s coached the 49ers tight ends each of the past two seasons. He was previously worked for the Dolphins and Browns.

Lions pass game coordinator Tanner Engstrand

Engstrand is completing his fourth seasons in Detroit after working as an offensive coordinator in the XFL (2019-20), one year at Michigan and more than a decade coaching offense at the University of San Diego. Coached the Lions’ tight ends last season and worked with quarterbacks in college.
