BOYS BASKETBALL

Ben Ahmed dialed in for 34 points and 15 rebounds, powering Putnam Science Academy to a 98-72 win over Brimmer.

On Senior Night, host Tewksbury pulled out a 57-51 non-league win over North Middlesex. Tewksbury received 20 points from Luke Montejo and Kyle Cummings added 14. … Jason Berry scored 26 points as North Reading defeated Pioneer (Everett), 54-47. … Tyler Lennox scored 23 points as Carver beat Calvary Chapel, 90-50.

Raphel Laurent scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Peabody (12-2) past Beverly, 50-45, in Northeastern Conference play.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

In the Commonwealth Athletic Conference play, Riley Hogan netted a career-high 15 points as Lowell Catholic (6-6) defeated Greater Lowell, 40-35. … Achol Manyang controlled the glass with 15 rebounds and Muji Vader lit up the scoreboard with 20 points as Minuteman (9-2) beat Greater Lawrence 46-36.

Senior Linda Jallow led with 14 points while senior Lauren Wilson and freshman Divine Egbuta each added 13 points as Lynn Classical (9-2) took down Greater Boston League opponent Lynn English, 53-44.

Ella Castle led the way with 17 points, while Peyton Dibiasio added 12 as Saugus defeated Winthrop 47-42 in the Northeastern Conference…. Molly Potter registered 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists as Beverly edged Peabody, 56-55.

Siena Lauze dropped 26 points as Dennis-Yarmouth (8-3) cruised to a 61-36 win over Nauset in a Cape and Islands League tilt.

Sadie Tracy collected 27 points, five rebounds and 10 steals in Nashoba Tech’s 53-40 win over Collegiate Charter of Lowell. Tracy went over the 1,000-point plateau for her career in the win.

In the Merrimack Valley Conference, Kerri Finneran had a double-double with 24 points and 10 boards as Central Catholic (11-3) took down previously undefeated Billerica 51-38.

BOYS HOCKEY

Larry Cullity (two goals, assist) scored the game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation, and Chase Darcey (two goals, assist) tipped in the game-winner as Shawsheen (11-1) extended its win streak to 11 games with a 4-3 survival over Essex Tech.

FOOTBALL

Dracut named Trevor Knight as its new head football coach. A former standout at Nashua South, Knight went on to play at UNH from 2015-2018. … Pembroke named Shawn Tarpey as its new head coach, replacing Stephen Aborn, who retired following the 2023 season.
