Germany Private Sales Full Year 2023: Tesla Model Y and VW T-Roc top market off -1.7%

Private sales account for 32.9% of the German market in 2023 at 935,876 units, compared to 35.9% and 951,837 (-1.7%). The Tesla Model Y leads the way with a 58.6% Private Sales Ratio (PSR), only 765 sales above the VW T-Roc at 38% PSR. The Mini lineup ends the year at #3 with 48.3% PSR, distancing the Mercedes GLC/EQC (56.2%) and Dacia Sandero (80.9%) at #5 vs. #34 in the general ranking. #3 overall, the VW Tiguan (25.5%) is down to #6 with private consumers. Reversely the BMW X1 (42.2%) is up from #11 to #7. Leader overall, the VW Golf (19%) falls to a dismal #8 PS with just 1/5 of buyers being private customers. The Fiat 500 lineup (31.8%) and Fiat Ducato (71.8%) round out the Top 10. Other great performers with private buyers include the Dacia Duster (77.4%) at #11, the Dacia Jogger (74%) at #19, Tesla Model 3 (58.8%) at #23 and MG 4 (69.7%) at #27.
