Bill Belichick and Jon Bon Jovi were friends through the years
A Pat’s practice during Bill Belichick’s era could quickly turn into who’s who of famous people, including cameos from his friend Jon Bon Jovi.
The legendary rocker was present at a training camp in 2019 and on the sidelines of the AFC Championship against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium in 2017.
After the AFC Championship in January 2017, Belichick said he was also “definitely aware” that Bon Jovi was in Robert Kraft’s owner’s box.
“Jon, man I’ve heard him play that song dozens of times. He had the place rocking, maybe a little more than we did,” Belichick said at the time. “Pretty impressive. He’s a great friend, been a great friend for a long time. All the way back into the ’80s. We shared a lot of great moments together, including the 1990 Super Bowl in Tampa when he was in the locker room after the game, taking crazy pictures and stuff like that. Great memories from there.”
Belichick has said their friendship dated back to his days on the Giants coaching staff. Bon Jovi is from New Jersey, grew up a Giants fan, and would come hang out at practice.
