Tom Brady, current and ex-Patriots react to Bill Belichick parting with organization

Bill Belichick and the Patriots announced Thursday they are mutually parting ways after 24 years.

Under Belichick’s leadership, the Patriots won six Super Bowls and made three more championship appearances. Belichick is widely recognized as the greatest coach of all time. He coached thousands of players in New England, including some who took to social media to react to his upcoming departure.

Below is a sampling of those players’ reaction, including posts from Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. Several of the team’s current players, including wide receiver Kendrick Bourne and nose tackle Davon Godchaux, also expressed their gratitude toward Belichick in their own tributes.

Thank you Coach Belichick for everything you have done! From taking a chance drafting me in the very beginning to teaching and showing me the way on the field, I wouldn’t change a thing! Honor to be on your team and thank you for putting us players in situations to have serious… pic.twitter.com/m5NYkW4Kwt

Though brief, I won’t forget the time under your professional tutelage Bill Belichick.

Brought me back in free agency. First to call me when getting out of the hospital both times this year. I consider it an honor.

2024 season I will prove you right.

Thank you legend.
