“Big Little Lies” season 3 is in the works, Reese Witherspoon confirmed during the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday night.
“We are working on it. Nic and I have been working on it a lot,” she told Variety’s Marc Malkin, referring to her co-star Nicole Kidman.

Witherspoon and Kidman both serve as executive producers for the critically acclaimed series, which has garnered 16 primetime Emmy nominations.
Season 2 of the show ended in July 2019, and there’s been heavy speculation around the show returning in recent years.
Witherspoon’s statement Sunday was the first time she has gone on record confirming the project is in the works.
In 2022, she had told The Hollywood Reporter that it would be difficult to imagine the show continuing without her friend and collaborator Jean-Marc Vallée, who served as director for the show.
“Jean-Marc Vallée’s passing was really hard on us,” she told the outlet. “He was our collaborator. He was our friend. He was our brother. So much of that series was born of his imagination and his creativity, so it is hard to imagine a future without him.”
