Patriots place Hunter Henry on IR in series of roster moves

Patriots tight end Hunter Henry will end the season on injured reserve.

The Patriots’ starter injured his knee in Week 15 and hasn’t played since the team’s loss to the Chiefs. Including Sunday’s game against the Jets, these are the first three games Henry will miss since signing with the Patriots in 2021.

The Patriots signed tight end La’Michael Pettway from their practice squad to fill the spot on the 53-man roster. Pettway only signed to the Patriots’ practice squad on Dec. 27. The Iowa State and Arkansas product must have impressed the team over the last two weeks to earn a 53-man roster spot. He previously spent time in the USFL.

Tight end Matt Sokol and offensive tackle Andrew Stueber were also elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game. Stueber, Vederian Lowe and Mike Onwenu will be the team’s available tackles with Trent Brown out with an illness.
