Gophers linebacker Cody Lindenberg to return against Wisconsin
The Gophers will have a key linebacker return against Wisconsin on Saturday, but will remain down two running backs.
Cody Lindenberg is not listed on the U’s status report for the Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe at Huntington Bank Stadium, setting up a comeback against the Badgers.
But tailbacks Darius Taylor and Zach Evans were ruled out pregame.
With a “questionable” label, Lindenberg didn’t play the last two games. The all-Big Ten-caliber middle linebacker missed the opening seven games with a leg injury before playing against Michigan State and Illinois and getting hurt again.
Taylor will miss a fifth straight game, while Evans appeared to injure his shoulder in the 37-3 loss to Ohio State last week.
Safety Darius Green, who has stared all 11 games this season, is listed as out. He appeared to injure his shoulder against the Buckeyes.
Fellow safety Aidan Gousby has missed two straight games; he had his arm in a sling Saturday.
Linebacker Maverick Baranowski will miss his second straight game. He was injured in the 49-30 loss to Purdue on Nov. 11.
Receiver Le’Meke Brockington was listed as questionable. He has missed the last six games with a leg injury.
