Bristol DA reports murder-suicide in Rehoboth home
Police discovered the bodies of a 72-year-old man and an 77-year-old woman in a home in Rehoboth Friday morning.
Local police received a call shortly before 11 a.m. requesting a well-being check at 162 Summer St. in Rehoboth. When police arrived, they found the bodies of Omar Bradley, 72, who lived in the home, and Barbara J. Cruz, 77, of Tiverton, R.I.
Also at the home was another, uninjured resident of the home, an 84-year-old woman who was Cruz’ sister.
The initial investigation suggests that Bradley, who lived in the home with the uninjured woman, shot and killed Cruz before then turning the gun on himself, according to a statement from the Bristol District Attorney’s office.
