Ford Mustang California Special Returns for 2024

Ford is reviving the California Special package for the Mustang in 2024, bringing a fresh wave of style and design to this iconic American muscle car. This reintroduction showcases Ford’s commitment to catering to a diverse range of enthusiasts by offering various special edition models.

The California Special for the 2024 model year infuses unique aesthetics into the Mustang’s design, with a distinctive color scheme featuring Rave Blue accents that invigorate the car’s exterior. Notable changes include a newly designed grille with glossy black horizontal slats and eye-catching blue nostril intakes. The headlights receive a makeover with black surrounds, and the model-specific side decals in black and blue add an extra layer of visual appeal.

Wheel choices are also on the menu, with two 19-inch options available. The standard choice is Carbonized Gray wheels with Rave Blue accents, while opting for the Performance Pack will equip the Mustang California Special with wheels boasting a machined face and Rave Blue pockets.

Ford has gone the extra mile in incorporating the California Special theme throughout the vehicle. The 5.0-liter and GT badging are now outlined in blue with black centers, reinforcing the California Special’s distinctive look. This design philosophy extends to the GT/CS badging for the Performance Pack, ensuring consistency in the overall appearance.

According to Ford, the California Special is part of their ongoing effort to reinvigorate special edition Mustangs and make them appealing to a new generation of car enthusiasts. This commitment to evolution is seen in their diverse lineup, which includes track-ready models like the Dark Horse and the world-beating Mustang GTD.

The Mustang GT California Special is set to make its official debut at the 2023 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 16. Excited customers can place their orders starting immediately, and they have the opportunity to tailor their Mustang California Special package to suit their preferences through Ford’s website.

For those considering the California Special, it’s important to note that it comes at an additional cost of $1,995 when added to the Mustang GT Premium. This special package is available for both the Coupe and Convertible variants, and customers can choose between a six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic transmission to further personalize their driving experience.
