Twins activate Royce Lewis for Friday night’s game in Detroit
Royce Lewis was back with the Twins in Detroit on Friday, available for a 5:40 p.m. first pitch against the Tigers.
Lewis was activated from the 10-day injured list after playing two rehab games with Class AAA St. Paul, where he was 1 for 6 with a double and a walk. Lewis hasn’t played in the big leagues since pulling his right adductor on July 3. He missed 16 games.
To make room on the active roster, the Twins optioned catcher Jair Camargo back to St. Paul. He appeared in two games for Minnesota, going 0 for 2 at the plate.
Lewis, 25, missed 58 games earlier this season because of a quadriceps injury. He is hitting .292 with five doubles, 10 home runs, 18 RBIs and has an OPS of 1.039.
