Qatar H1 2024: Geely (+56.4%), Mitsubishi (+43.1%) stand out
Geely sales are up 56.4% over H1.
31,659 new cars hit Qatari roads over the First Half of 2024, a solid 10.4% year-on-year improvement. Strikingly, the Top 4 brands all outpace the market. Toyota (+13.4%) is the faraway leader with 34.6% share, distancing Nissan (+19.5%). Kia (+28.1%) is up two spots on H1 2023 to #3 ahead of Mitsubishi (+43.1%) up four to #4. Geely (+56.4%), Hyundai (+23.4%) and Suzuki (+19.8%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Lexus (-23.6%), Land Rover (-17.5%) and MG (-7.7%) all sink.
Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (+17.7%) tightens its grip even further to 13.7% share with the Toyota Hilux (+7.2%) overtaking the Lexus LX (-28.7%) to #2. The Toyota Yaris Sedan (+111%) enjoys the benefits of a new generation and climbs six spots to #4. The Toyota Fortuner (+201.4%), Kia Pegas (+94.2%), Nissan Sunny (+28%) and Patrol (+22.8%) also shine. The Geely Emgrand (+745.8%) surges ahead and ends the period equal #10.
