Red Sox lineup: For sole possession of the 3rd American League Wild Card

With the Royals taking the series opener from the Red Sox 6-1 on Friday night, the two teams are tied for the third American League Wild Card.

Kutter Crawford is coming off his best start of the season; he tossed seven scoreless innings against the Yankees in the Bronx on Sunday, holding the rivals to four hits, zero walks, and striking out four. He owns a 3.24 ERA, 3.82 FIP, and 1.069 WHIP – all career-bests – across 18 starts (105.2 innings).

After struggling against another lefty on Friday night, the Red Sox will face right-hander Seth Lugo, who owns an MLB-best 2.21 ERA (19 starts, 122 innings) and is leading the AL with 11 wins and 488 batters faced. He’ll be All-Star teammates with Tanner Houck and Jarren Duran next week.
