Mashpee resident dies in Bridgewater car crash, another with serious injuries
A Mashpee resident died from injuries suffered in a car crash Saturday afternoon on I-495 in Bridgewater, according to state police.
Officials said a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu traveling southbound on I-495 around 3 p.m. went into the wooded median and rolled over. The driver, a 79-year-old Mashpee resident whose identity was not disclosed by officials, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The passenger of the car, Lana Testa, 74, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to officials. The crash caused the left lane of I-495 south near exit 19B to be shut down for almost four-and-a-half hours.
The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
