Centre St. redesign

I read the article about the West Roxbury Centre Street redesign and was perplexed. The redesign has allowed my family to bike to and enjoy parks across the neighborhood that we were only able to drive to in prior years. We can now safely bike to church. I’m not sure why there is reported hostility toward the redesign since it is only in its infancy. I’m confident that there will be an uptick of cyclists now that the weather is warmer and I invite people to safely bike on Centre.  I have also been able to park without issue on Centre as I visit local businesses. I would urge grace and patience before jumping to conclusions.

Trump conviction

Former President Donald Trump was found guilty by the jury on all 34 counts that Alvin Bragg charged him with (“Final verdict rests with voters,” Boston Herald, May 31). Did Bragg ever reveal what the underlying felonies were that brought the hush money to Stormy Daniels back into play? It’s a total disgrace and mockery of the US legal system. The government in this persecution case against a former president resembles Third World authoritarianism. The whole case, the district attorney, the judge on the bench and the venue for the trial made the verdict inevitable. No way the verdict from this mockery of a trial will not be overturned on appeal.  It was the ultimate election interference.

Good news though, watch as President Trump’s poll numbers go up, up and away. The Democrats may be rejoicing at the moment but Orange Man lives. How soon do you think it will take the Democrats on Capitol Hill to file legislation to remove Secret Service protection from Trump?

May 30 will now go down in history as a day of infamy when it comes to our democratic republic. We have stepped into terrible territory. I fear for our democracy.  As Joe Battenfeld seems to believe, the final verdict rests with voters

Trump shouldn’t run

Now that Donald Trump is a convicted felon he should not be allowed to run for president of the United States. This conviction should send a clear message that no one is above the law, even a bad hair, ill-tempered billionaire.

The Republicans need to drop all support for Trump and all 50 states need to remove his name from the ballot. Finally I would love to see support for Nikki Haley increased because this country needs fresh young leadership, not some octogenarian as president.
