Alpine ski state meet: East Metro teams and individuals to watch

The winter high school state tournament season kicks off Tuesday at Giant’s Ridge in Biwabik with the Alpine skiing state meet. The Alpine meet is the first of three straight days of state skiing competition in northern Minnesota, followed by two days of Nordic competition.

The alpine meet features a pair of runs, one each down two separate hills for both the boys and girls, with the combined times of the two runs determining the individual champions and the team champs when combining times of competitors.

The first run will begin at 10 a.m., with the second run slated for 1 p.m.

The event can be streamed for a fee at PrepSpotlight.tv/MSHSL

East Metro individuals to watch: Hastings’ Jackson Reents, Irondale’s Anthony Petkov, Stillwater’s Cash Jaeger, Forest Lake’s Mathias Peterson, Hill-Murray’s Austin Mjanger, Rosemount’s Wes Ebaugh
