Big Ten volleyball: No. 2 Badgers sweep Gophers
Sarah Franklin had 21 kills and eight digs to lead Wisconsin to a sweep of the Gophers in a Big Ten volleyball match Sunday afternoon in Madison, Wis.
The No. 2-ranked Badgers (20-1, 11-1 Big Ten) won 25-13, 25-20, 25-19 to drop Minnesota to 10-10 overall and 6-6 in the Big Ten.
Taylor Landfair finished with 12 kills to lead the Gophers, and Lauren Crowl added seven. Defensively, Minnesota had two players reach double figures in digs — Melani Shaffmaster with 16 and Kylie Murr with 12. Arica Davis led Minnesota with four blocks.
The Gophers hit .107 with 32 kills, 44 digs, six blocks and one ace, while Wisconsin hit .327 with 48 kills, 61 digs, 12 blocks and four aces.
With the loss, Minnesota now leads the all-time series 53-38 over Wisconsin.
