The Xpeng G6 is up to a record 4th place in October

15,725 new cars found a buyer in Norway in October, up 41.2% year-on-year and the 2nd best ever volume for the month below the 17,826 units reached in October 1985. The year-to-date tally is up 5.2% to 130.921, a record at this stage of the year. BEV share stands at a record 98.8%, also reached last month. Unusually for a start of Quarter, Tesla (+130.7%) is the #1 brand in Norway, with all its models imported from China as Norway isn’t part of the EU and therefore doesn’t apply punitive tariffs for EVs imported from China. The American brand holds 9.8% of the market in October vs. 16.4% so far this year. Toyota (+2308.1%) compensates for a particularly poor year-ago score when the carmaker suffered from low inventory. Xpeng (+147.9%) is inside the Top 5 for the third time in the past 4 months and now ranks #6 year-to-date. BYD (+88%), Audi (+61.6%)  and Kia (+60.5%) also shine below. All in all, Chinese manufacturers hold a record 24.2% share this month. We welcome GAC at #40.

Looking at the models charts, the Tesla Model Y (+141.4%) remains in pole position with 9.1% share, almost double any other model in the market. The Toyota bZ4X (+3927.8%) and VW ID.4 (+21.3%) ensure the podium is identical to the year-to-date order. The Xpeng G6 (+63.3%) shoots up 17 spots on last month to hit #4 which is a new ranking record for the nameplate. The Audi Q4 e-Tron (+128.6%) rounds out the Top 5 ahead of the Mercedes GLC down three ranks on September to #6 and the BMW iX3 up one to #7. The best-selling newcomer is the BYD EVO 4×4 aka Atto 3 Evo at #8 followed closely by the Toyota Urban Cruiser at #9.
