Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy

Developer/publisher: Stormind Games | Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 | Release: 27 October 2026

The third Remothered game follows Susan as she searches for her missing daughter in an isolated residence near Mount Etna, according to MonsterVine. It is a stealth-driven survival horror game with new hypnosis abilities for puzzles, scored by Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill fame, and it closes the trilogy.

Until Dawn 2

Developer/publisher: Firesprite / Sony Interactive Entertainment | Platform: PS5 | Release: 28 January 2027

This choice-driven horror game, announced on the PlayStation Blog, sends a team of YouTubers to Akishima Island, abandoned since a resort’s mysterious closure in the 1970s. Eight characters are playable, and decisions can determine who survives. The story was developed with AdHoc Studio, the team behind Dispatch.

Grave Seasons

Developer/publisher: Perfect Garbage / Blumhouse Games | Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch | Release: 9 March 2027

A pixel-art farming sim set in the town of Ashenridge, where you tend crops and build relationships while a supernatural serial killer picks off residents, as MonsterVine reports. It had passed 750,000 Steam wishlists when its release date was announced.

Alien Deathstorm

Developer/publisher: Rebellion | Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S | Release: Spring 2027

Rebellion describes it as a first-person action horror game set in an off-world colony devastated by a cataclysmic mega-storm and overrun by aliens. Gameplay covers locations such as reactors and substations, with tactical planning and firepower both in play. A gameplay trailer is already out and includes a reactor mission. The draw is a sci-fi survival setting from a studio that both develops and publishes it.

Resident Evil Veronica

Developer/publisher: Capcom | Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 | Release: 2027 (exact date not announced)

Capcom calls it a remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica, which launched in 2000. The company says it keeps the appeal of the original, with a reimagined story and visuals built on its RE Engine. Only the release year has been confirmed.

ONTOS

Developer: Frictional Games | Publisher: Kepler Interactive | Platforms: PC, PS5, Xbox Series | Release: 2027

Frictional Games, the studio behind Amnesia and SOMA, describes ONTOS as a science-fiction mystery thriller. It was delayed from 2026 to 2027, with the studio calling it its most ambitious game to date.

ONYX: The Dark Grip

Developer: Broken Mirror Games (Bloober Team) | Platform: Nintendo Switch 2 | Release: 2027

Revealed in September 2026, ONYX is a Switch 2 exclusive built for handheld play. You control two opposing forces: The Vessel, an ordinary man fighting to survive, and The God, a godlike entity possessing him. No publisher has been named.

Silent Hill 1 Remake

Developer: Bloober Team | Publisher: Konami | Platforms: TBA | Release: Release date has not been announced

The remake was announced in June 2025 and is in production, with no release window. Bloober Team previously made the Silent Hill 2 remake. No footage has been shown yet.

OD

Developer: Kojima Productions | Publisher: Xbox Game Studios | Platforms: Xbox Series X|S and PC reported | Release: TBA

OD is an anthology-style horror project with segments by several directors, including Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peele. In a Tokyo Game Show update on 27 September 2026, Kojima said development is progressing, but no release date or footage was shown.

What Trends Are Shaping Upcoming Horror Games?

Looking across the ten games, a few patterns repeat. Release plans are also shifting, since several titles still carry only a year or a TBA. These are the trends that stand out:

Remakes of established series: Resident Evil Veronica and the Silent Hill 1 remake.
