José is a Portuguese professional football manager and former football player. Mourinho was born in a middle-class family in Setúbal, Portugal, on 26 January 1963. He is the son of José Manuel Mourinho Félix, a goalkeeper, and Maria Júlia Carrajola dos Santos, a primary school teacher. José Mourinho is the manager of La Liga club Real Madrid. He is known by his nickname, the Special One, among fans. 

He has won many league championships. Mourinho is among the list of 7 sports managers to win the European Cup and is the only manager to win all three UEFA club competitions. Mourinho used to play football, but after his retirement at the age of 24, he joined coaching as a teacher. After this, he was appointed as the assistant manager. In 1992, he got an opportunity as a translator for top foreign coach Bobby Robson. Finally, in September 2000, José Mourinho became a top-tier manager.
