Luxembourg May 2026: BMW most popular in negative market
BMW is the best-selling brand in Luxembourg in May.
The Luxembourg new car market edges down -3% year-on-year in May to 3,939 units, yet the year-to-date tally remains in positive at +1.5% to 21,416. This month BMW (+4%) snaps the brands top spot for the first time since last July, selling just 10 units more than Volkswagen (-9.5%) which remains #1 year-to-date. Mercedes (-9.5%) is also down one spot on April to #3, distancing Skoda (+5.4%) and Audi (-22.1%). Tesla (+147.9%) is the best performer in the Top 25 and climbs back up 11 ranks on last month to #10 and 3% share. Kia (+24%) and Renault (+11.6%) also defy the negative market in the remainder of the Top 10. Other impressive gainers include Seat (+96.7%), Alfa Romeo (+60.7%) and MG (+46.2%).
