High school roundup/scores: Jacob Klass breaks Beverly record with monster performance

Jacob Klass, who netted his 1,000th career point earlier this month, earned another milestone Thursday night as he dropped in a school record 49 points as Beverly (9-3) cruised over Saugus, 119-39, in Northeastern Conference play.

In the Greater Boston League, senior Jacob Underwood-Roche dropped 25 points, adding eight rebounds as Somerville (9-3) held on for a 62-55 win over Malden.

Matt Lennox paced Carver with 16 points and Amare Santos chipped in 15 as the Crusaders upended Westport, 56-50.

Girls basketball

Bella Bingham netted 18 points as Walpole used an 8-1 run to close out the fourth quarter to edge Norwood, 46-41.

Boys hockey

Cam Guerschuny scored two goals, Gavin O’Toole netted the game winner to lead Canton to a 3-2 Hockomock League victory over King Philip.

Girls hockey

In the Patriot League, Mackenzie Ilacqua had four tallies as Quincy/North Quincy doubled up Plymouth, 6-3. Riley Ilacqua and Emily Lim potted the other goals in the winning effort.
