Lynx guard Kayla McBride tears quad
Lynx star guard Kayla McBride suffered a right quadriceps tear during a recent practice in Istanbul with her Turkish team, Fenerbahce, the club announced.
The club also announced McBride is undergoing treatment in Turkey.
The typical rehab process for such an injury, depending on its severity, is at least four months. Minnesota’s season — should it start on time amid the current WNBA labor dispute — is slated to kick off with a home tilt against Atlanta on May 10.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Lynx superstar forward Napheesa Collier would be out four to six months after having surgery on both ankles. Minnesota could potentially be very short-handed at the season’s outset if the 2026 campaign starts on time.
The 32-year-old McBride, who’s been an all-star in each of the last two seasons, averaged 14 points per game for Minnesota in 2025 while knocking down 39% of her 3-point attempts.
