Kowalski’s is now sole owner of Pizzeria Pezzo in White Bear Lake and Woodbury
Pizzeria Pezzo has new owners — sort of.
When the Chicago deep-dish spot opened 12 years ago, owners Gary Bougie and his wife, Keri, partnered with Kowalski’s.
Gary Bougie died in 2014, and Keri kept going, eventually expanding Pezzo into Kowalski’s stores in Woodbury and Edina. But Keri has moved to California, and managing the business from there proved challenging, so she sold the entire operation to Kowalski’s.
The grocery chain plans to refresh the White Bear Lake location, adding new lighting and redesigning the bar. They have also added new wine selections and a few menu items.
To celebrate this new chapter, Kowalski’s is offering a week of specials at the White Bear and Woodbury locations from Tuesday, Jan. 27, through Saturday, Jan. 31.
Each night’s specials are different, ranging from buy-one, get-one pizzas to $5 tap beers to a free cup of soup with any sandwich purchase. On Saturday, Jan. 31, the restaurant will host live music from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and offer 15% off all deep-dish pizzas, $5 drink specials and free gelato with the purchase of a 12-inch pizza.
Reservations are recommended.
