Gophers add fourth defensive lineman to transfer portal class
The Gophers gained another commitment from a defensive lineman in the transfer portal on Sunday.
Sid Kaba, a 6-foot-3 and 290-pound end from Marshall, is the fourth D-lineman to pledge to Minnesota since the portal opened Jan. 1. The Columbus, Ohio native appears to have two years of eligibility remaining.
“I’m excited of this new journey ahead of me,” Kaba wrote on X.
Kaba had 18 total tackles, 2 1/2 for lost yards and and 1/2 a sack in nine games for the Thundering Herd in 2025.
Pro Football Focus gave him a strong 72.3 overall grade, but a below-average 54.1 for pass rush. He was credited with three total pressures across 154 total snaps last season, primarily on the edge. He was at Western Michigan to start his college career, but didn’t play for the Broncos.
Minnesota has added 19 total players via the portal. The previous D-lineman are tackles Naquan Crowder (Marshall) and Zion Chapman (Florida International) and edge TJ Bush (California).
