BYD is an instant blockbuster in Cyprus.

Data shared with us by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT shows a Cyprus new car market up 14.3% year-on-year in October to 1,147 units. However the year-to-date tally remains in negative territory at -2.7% to 12,950. Kia (-15.8%) remains by far the most popular carmaker in the country despite a harsh year-on-year fall. Nissan (+62%) surges ahead and advances to #2, overtaking Toyota (+4.6%), while Hyundai (+300%) does even better at #4, distancing Volkswagen (+7.8%). Newcomer BYD confirms its instant blockbuster status and climbs to #6 with 6.3% share for its 4th month in market.

The Kia Stonic (+33.3%) holds onto the models top spot above the Hyundai Tucson (+522.2%) and Jeep Avenger (+60%). The Nissan Qashqai (+178.6%) and Juke (+191.7%) shine while the Nissan Ariya, Mercedes GLC Class and Porsche Macan crack the YTD Top 30.
