Cranberry bog worker dies after getting pinned under machinery on Cape Cod
A 71-year-old man died while working in a cranberry bog on Cape Cod Friday.
Bourne police and an ambulance around 8:30 a.m. responded to cranberry bogs located behind 1054 County Road — where they found a man pinned underneath some farming equipment, according to a police statement.
Officers and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, including CPR, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the statement.
The Bourne Police Department said the agency’s “thoughts are with the family, friends, and co-workers of the victim in this incident.”
The department said no additional information was immediately available as it works with the Massachusetts State Police and OSHA to investigate.
This is a developing story.
