Red Sox skipper finishes fourth in AL Manager of the Year vote
Tuesday night Cleveland Guardians manager Stephen Vogt won his second consecutive AL Manager of the Year honor, becoming one of just four managers in MLB history to win the award in back-to-back seasons.
But while he was not a finalist, Red Sox manager Alex Cora drew some support as well.
Cora finished fourth in the AL Manager of the Year vote, drawing a first-place vote and a pair of third-place votes to earn seven points total.

Vogt won the award with 113 points, including 23 first-place votes, Blue Jays manager John Schneider finished second with 10 first-place votes and 91 points, and Mariners skipper Dan Wilson took third with 50 points.
Tigers manager AJ Hinch (six points) and Astros manager Joe Espada (three points) were the only other AL managers to receive consideration.
Vogt has now won the award in each of his first two seasons as a big league manager. He was widely expected to win after helping the Guardians engineer a remarkable run where Cleveland erased a 15.5-game deficit to chase down the Tigers and win the AL Central title.
But Cora had a good case of his own, helping the Red Sox overcome a litany of injuries to reach their first postseason appearance since 2021.
Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy won the NL Manager of the Year award for the second consecutive year as well, marking the first time in the award’s history that both leagues featured repeat winners. He won in a landslide with 27 first-place votes and 141 points, beating out Reds manager Terry Francona (49 points) and Phillies skipper Rob Thomson (32 points).
