Mike Vrabel commends Patriots players for continuing to work on off day
FOXBORO — Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel is happy with his team’s buy-in as they enter Week 10.
Vrabel noted that a number of players were at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday, which is their only day off during the season.
“Forty-one guys lifted yesterday, on a day off, came into the building, lifted, which I thought is really positive thing at this time of the year,” Vrabel said. “The season’s really just getting started right now.”

Vrabel has successfully built a strong culture around his team in his first year on the job. It’s showed up on the scoreboard, as well.
After back-to-back 4-13 seasons, the Patriots have started the 2025 season 7-2 and are currently riding a six-game winning streak.
They face a dangerous 6-2 Buccaneers team on the road this weekend in Tampa.
“It’s gonna be good environment. They’re a great football team. Great defense, great offense. And I think it’s kind of a start for the games that we may have down the road of maybe at the end of season, need some wins, and gonna be tough battles. So it’s a start here for us to know what it’s like. And the weather gets a little colder, not down there, but when it starts to, what this game is like. It’s a good team, good record, good quarterback, great defense. So it’s a challenge. Feels like a game that gets a little bit extra to it. I think it’s also an opponent we don’t really know really well, NFC South. You don’t see them often. But it’s a chance for us to get another road victory. And it’s always a great test for a great team.”
The Patriots have a 97% chance of making the playoffs, according to The Athletic’s playoff simulator.
