Man killed in Massachusetts workplace incident, pair fell from lift
A man died after falling from a lift in another deadly workplace incident in the Bay State.
Massachusetts State Police and Rockland Police were investigating the fatal worksite incident that left one man dead and another injured, according to the Plymouth DA’s office.
Rockland Police at around 10:42 a.m. received a 911 call for a report of two men who had fallen from a boom lift doing work at 24 North Ave.
The men were maintenance workers at the Brentwood Arms condominium complex.
Upon arrival, Rockland Police and Fire saw a 72-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second male worker was transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Rockland Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police detective unit assigned to the Plymouth DA’s office, and an investigation was launched.
The investigation remained ongoing.
This deadly workplace incident comes a few days after two men died when a crane collapsed at a worksite in Everett. The men were working as subcontractors at a jobsite at the Rover Street marine dock in Everett when a crane collapsed. The site is the former Exxon terminal on the Mystic River.
